Software Engineer, Front-end

We like to get straight to the point - so is this you?

  • You are an experienced software engineer in frontend.

  • You take pride in creating usable interfaces to somewhat abstract technology with a highly skilled and experienced team.

  • You are at home in React, Next, preferably TanStack and curious about gRPC.

  • You have a high tolerance for word puns and the ambiguity that comes with working at a start-up.

  • You like to come into the office in Rotterdam (Centraal) 1-2 days a week and work effectively in a remote (but not asynchronous) team.

Then please read on as we’re looking for someone just like you

to join the STRM team and make data security fun again!

About STRM

If you have *any* experience in larger organizations you will recognize the endless complaints and annoyance about getting data access - in a nutshell, that’s what we’re trying to solve.

In more detail, STRM is a young data technology company focused on helping organizations extract value from their data without compromising on (data) security. We do this by providing a data policy execution engine, PACE, that helps to define and implement policies (agreements on data) natively in data platforms. This helps users and their organizations to greatly reduce idle time waiting for data and security risks!

PACE: open-source data security in need of a great UI

PACE (https://pace.getstrm.com) is open source and free of charge, meaning organizations can deploy, run, contribute and use PACE without us even knowing who they are, all through code and a friendly CLI. But PACE sits in a deeply collaborative domain, and many stakeholders from different teams are usually involved in discussing, setting and implementing policies for data usage. Many of them can’t (and shouldn’t) code or even have rights to access and launch the terminal on their computers.

That is why we are building PACE cloud, a hosted version of PACE (so customers don't have to run it themselves), and PACE Console, a visual interface for all stakeholders to collaborate on data agreements, manage implementation and fulfil secondary obligations such as auditing and compliance.

And we need you to build that together with us.

Our offer

  • A challenging role and context with room to grow

  • Join a VC-funded startup with an experienced team from companies like bol., Google and Albert Heijn

  • Decent compensation and a stock package

  • Grown-up benefits like a pension contribution, insurance, WFH compensation

  • Lots of flexibility and fun.

Sounds like fun? Let's explore! We don't like to fuss, so please simply drop us a note with your contact details and a link to a relevant online profile . We'll get back to you swiftly.
